COMPREHENSIVE INTERNATIONAL INSTALLATION

“MR. MULDROW”

The latest and also most recent art-installation by COMPREHENSIVE INTERNATIONAL is now on public display at Deerfield High School (Deerfield, ILL). The installation measures approximately eight feet tall and four feet wide, composed of yellow, cyan, and magenta ink on thin sheets of poly-vinyl. The COMPREHENSIVE INTERNATIONAL INSTALLATION invokes imagery of George Orwell’s 1984, published in 1984, and utilizes the same abrasive advertising techniques as Apple Computers’ 1984 television advertisement, 1984. The Humble Hungry Smart mantra is repeated over the length of the image, symbolizing the necessity of repetition, and the beauty of redundancy.

MARCY RASKIN

COMPREHENSIVE INTERNATIONAL conceived and executed an informational Social Experiment, which effectively proved the tendency of the individual to participate in group activity if such is the will of a given group, regardless of the authenticity or legitimacy of such activity. COMPREHENSIVE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATE Leo Baum obtained a great multitude of personalized signatures from a large number of young-people, with such young-people under the impression that the cardstock posterboard was to be gifted to a classmate, Marcy Raskin. Young-people were deluded, and put under the impression that Marcy was ill, that it was Marcy’s birthday, or that she was ill and it was also her birthday.

There is no such person as Marcy Raskin. COMPREHENSIVE INTERNATIONAL appreciates the participation as was demonstrated by the student body of the Deerfield High School.
